Reads 4 Tweens Is Up!

It’s still a work in progress, but Reads 4 Tweens is ready for visitors! Please check it out at and follow us on Twitter @reads4tweens.

This is a site designed for parents, librarians, teachers, and other people who care about what kids, roughly ages 8 to 13, are reading. The reviews focus primarily on content–themes and situations you might want to seek out, avoid, or discuss with your kids. It’s aimed at helping you make informed decisions when helping individual children choose books to read.

Right now it’s 6 book reviews and a couple blog posts, but I’ll be adding more every day.

Coming soon:

  • Template to submit your own book reviews
  • Template for kids to submit their own reviews
  • Guidelines for submitting books to me for review
  • Contact information

as well as reviews of

  • The Phantom Tollbooth
  • My Life as a Book
  • Theodosia and the Serpents of Chaos
  • The Strange Case of Origami Yoda
  • and many more.

For now, if you have any questions or are interested in contacting me to do a review or to submit a book for review, please use amanda AT ayvalentine dot com.

Let me know what you think! I’m eager to hear feedback.

  1. Amanda–

Both as MG author and parent of a tween I am glad to have discovered your site today. Would love to submit for your consideration my humorous Kingdom of Patria series for MG readers. There are two ebooks in the series thus far, STOUT HEARTS & WHIZZING BISCUITS, and its cavity-preventing sequel, STOOP OF MASTODON MEADOW. Both available on Amazon,, and iTunes. STOUT HEARTS & WHIZZING BISCUITS is also available as an unabridged audiobook from WorldWide Audiobooks. Just follow the venue buttons on the homepage of the interactive, immersive Kingdom of Patria website.

The Kingdom of Patria also has free short stories, character blogs, and clubs for kids to join. It is also the home of audio serials presented by the Kingdom of Patria Storytime Radio!

Please let me know when you are accepting requests for reviews.

All the best in your endeavor,
    Daniel McInerny, author and CEO
